I can't see him going anywhere other then Saracens when he does leave the club anyway and hand on heart I believe the Wigan club would prefer that to a move to the NRL. The reason I say that is because Wigan and Ian Lenagan know Union will be good for a £500,000 + transfer fee whereas the NRL clubs will want to do the usual and get him on a free.

The only way I can see him going to Australia is via some sort of player swap deal.

the lure of international rugby has to be most appealing to tomkins.

He'll still be playing International Rugby if he goes to the NRL.

Plus, would he rather live in Sydney or Bristol? Tough call there...

But yet a few week ago Wane was in the press etc saying he was looking at options within the club for when Sam leaves .

I would hope/expect the club to be making plans for 5 years in the future, never mind when Sam leaves. I think you may have seen something in that statement that was not meant..

How it read the other week was like Sam was going sooner rather than later , it could quite possibly have been more along the lines of let's see who's worth investing time coaching etc in and who's not at this time .

Listening to the news coming out of Australia this morning their sport might be in for a real big shock in the way of a drugs and crime time bomb. So he may not want to go anyway. Just when we thought sport couldn’t get any worse!
