If I was in Wigan I wouldn't be going to see the flame, but I would go to see one of the runners..................

Sorry to let you know this but the Olympic flame will not be passing anywhere any more. It came pass where i work yesterday and some on has stolen it. Though the police are carrying out inquiries about the where about of the torch they have taken Paul Wellens off the list as apparently he had already made an attempt to steal it but was side footed and left for dead by the side step the entire 43 vehicle fleet.

I wont be bothering. Luckily ill be at work but im dreading the olympics taking over my TV

Traffic management
A Torch Relay Convoy will pass along the route. The Convoy will be split into two sections, the Activation Convoy and the Flame Convoy, with the Flame Convoy being approximately 5 minutes behind the Activation Convoy. There will be 15 vehicles in total.
The Police are not closing any roads. However, there will be a rolling road closure for a short time ahead of the Torch itself.
Please be aware that on Thursday 31 May during the afternoon there may be some disruption to traffic flow and buses.
The rolling road closure involves junctions which join the route being temporarily closed until the Activation Convoy passes by. Once cleared, the junction will be reopened, it will be closed again while the Flame Convoy passes by and then it will be opened again. It is not expected that traffic approaching in the opposite direction will need to be stopped.

It will go past us just as its clocking off time for most, so expect a load of workers chasing after it trying to get a light for there afternoon fag !
