| Just watched the Canberra v Melbourne game and this guy is awsome.most fullbacks in super league when put under pressure you expect them to make a mistake 50% of the time or at least 25% of the time. This guy .you would have no worries when he is under pressure,I get the same safe feeling watching Slater as I did watching Steve Hampson, always dependable and willing to break the line,I know it's never going to happen(or is it) but would love to see this guy in the world famous cherry and white

| Best fullback in the world.
Interesting he was playing a stand-off type role at times in that game to.

I take it you didn't watch the World Cup Final? Biggest game in rugby league, well, maybe Origin is bigger, but certainly the biggest game in international rugby league. Australia are losing by 2 with 20 minutes to go, New Zealand put a kick into the corner, Slater fields it 5 metres up, 5 metres in, and tries to go round the outside of the chasers! He gets easily shoved into touch but manages to throw the ball into the field of play for New Zealand to score the easiest try you'll ever see. I don't watch NRL every week so maybe I've missed him maturing but that stunk to me of a player who was more bothered about his own highlights reel than winning the game for his team.

27588.gif "Games as big as a grand finals define individuals and clubs. Remember we are only renting these shirts, I had my time in Pat Richards shirt. Ellery and Faz had there time in Sean's, Hampo and Radders in Sam's. You have to make a mark in these shirts that's still there the day you hand it over to someone else. So be aware for 80 minutes you are not only playing but also writing history and creating a legacy. How many people get to actually write history, not many. A big stage demands big players, be inspired. You play for Wigan, now go do it. Good luck." - Martin Offiah, 2010.:27588.gif |

Haha is this for real, did you not see his performances for Australia in 4 nations and over past 3 seasons in NRL, hes an outstanding player, one of his generation I think he'll go down as when hes finished, remember THAT try he scored for the Maroons when he was only a young fella still, one of best origin tries of all time, could tell he was special then.

[quote="Saddened":15kig0eg]Pat Richards is poop. A typical, average, run of the mill NRL outside back. Nothing special at all. Like Barrett he is a myth. He is solid enough, he can catch, he can kick goals.[/quote:15kig0eg]:d7dc4b20b2c2dd7b76ac6eac29d5604e_7958.jpg |

One screw up, thats all youve got???
Didnt you see him in the 4 nations, particularly against us? This guy is amazing and has been for years. I suggest you try and watch some NRL because he is one those players you love to watch, his ability is unreal at times...

He's an awesome attacker, the best attacking full back there is, but is he really that dependable in defence? That's the area of his game I've never really seen and I've watched every England Australia game and most of the NZ Australia games too.

However, a number of electrons were mildly inconvenienced.

| The only thing that annoyed me about Slater at the DW was the amount of whinging that he did.
He's an awesome player when he just stops whining to the referee constantly and plays.
