I do enjoy the standing away ends.
However, one of the best away atmospheres I often think back to was Saints in 2011, when they where playing at Widnes. (was it madges last game)
We made an absolute racket, all night, in an all seater away end.
So it can be done

I think I was at this game, got off a lovely warm coach into a -35 wind and a frost laden floor. My mate and I were that cold we went into the Hull KR supporters bar, We got threatened with violence unless we left, but we argued that violence was better then the outside cold which raised a laugh so they let us stay!!
If it's the correct game, the players came out looking blue with cold and Gene Miles looked like he was ready to fly back to Oz immediately. The floodlights also failed with about 10 mins to go, luckily we were winning.
I remember coming off Odsal one day, got back in the car and I couldn't feel the steering wheel or foot pedals, sat there for about 20 mins with the heater on full blast

was you at the game when it was completely covered in fog
we could literally see the in goal, and every now and then the ingoal touch judge who has walked up the pitch so he could see what was going on
absolute farce of an evening watching nothing, other than the odd player come into view
