I can't recall the last time a prop forward was signed of his quality and instantly produced top class performances week in week out. I can't recall a bad game all season from him.

There's playing big minutes and then there is being effective still for big minutes. Thompson was fantastic from minute 1 to minute what 60 when he was brought off? Brilliant.

We are stacked in the front row department but Thompson is a cut above them all in my opinion. A shoe in for England.

i think we all missed out as i'm sure i saw a boosted bet for French 1st try and MoM at 50/1 (could be wrong on the odds, but it was a good bet)

Thompson was immense on Sat, I think him and Ellis were my choices for MOM.

Already our best prop since SL started IMO (possibly only Craig Smith comes close). That shows; 1. how unseriously we've taken that position for a LONG time and; 2. what a huge impact it can have when you do sign a class prop.

I couldn't believe the amount of people before the season starting saying he'd flop and we were overpaying (never understand this thought it's as if fans think it's their money)

I always thought if he was shot as people were predicting you wouldnt come to the home of your nearest rivals because that would leave you open to the most abuse.

Great to see hIm playing as well as ever.

I can't lie, the signing made me nervous because of how we were burned with George Burgess, as well as the fact he is supposed to be a Saints man through and through, so you can't help question the motives behind a move like that. People will also worry about the salary, not because it's your money but because there is a salary cap and spending big money on one player, means you have to make sacrifices elsewhere. Well it was all massively unfounded, he's worth every penny, he's been fantastic (and available) and looks the ultimate competitor, who would run through brick walls in any shirt. All the individual parts come together in this side and it is forming a great mix and he is a huge part of it all.
