| If you went with the pack given the starting numbers, you've then got: Cooper, Leeming, Dupree, Walters, Nsemba, Thompson
I'd be happy with either of the 6 starting

| Exactly the way I’d have had the numbers.
Havard, O’Neill and Ellis have earnt them numbers. Leeming, Walters, Thompson will have to earn them.
Exciting squad. Can’t wait to see Eckersley and Douglas in preseason.

| There aren’t many concerns squad wise. There is pace and power across the board, a great mix of youth and experience and a nice group of players in that in between age, who are ready to step up and take more leadership responsibility. I’m happy we’ve decided to go with Eckersley and Douglas as pretty much first choice back ups for wing/centre and I think both could make a pretty big impression in 24.
If somebody pushed me to name one concern, it would probably be the Smithies exit and the hole that could leave in terms of workrate and aggression. Kaide Ellis and Brad O’Neill are the two I feel will need to pick up the slack now and I think they can but his exit will be a case of not knowing what you’ve got until it’s gone IMO.

Agree with the Smithies thing being a concern. He was the glue in the middle of the park all year. KPP aswell in the last 3/4 months of the season had an enormous work rate in defence.
We’ll miss those too.

| This might just be the best Wigan squad on paper ive seen since I started watching. Which was the early 2000. I know we haven’t kicked off yet but the buzz about this squad including the young lads is great. Even though we won last year I was more excited for the coming season before this last season ended

| Can't wait to see that pack rag-dolling Saints all over Langtree Park on Good Friday.
All aboard the Danson Express, back to back titles incoming

| Whilst we have much to be optimistic about there are still plenty of unknowns within the squad and externally with other clubs.
New signings are always exciting however can take time to fit in. I’ve always been a fan of Leeming but in a key position and a style change for our way of playing it may take time for him to gel with the systems.
Thompson a bit of a concern with his recent injury record.
Keighran is a very different style of player to King who was excellent last year at getting us on the front foot at the start of sets.
Walters I personally feel is a downgrade on KPP at the moment.
I’m focusing on the potential negatives but obviously there are many potential positives too.
Leeds and Warrington in particular have improved in theory and again are unknown quantities. Saints may be in decline but will still be dangerous.
I’m really optimistic for next year and I believe we rightly start as favourites but I don’t think it will be a cake walk some seem to think.

| We have an exciting squad but the squad numbers give a hint that Peet is going with what he knows and the incoming players will have to prove their worth when out there.
Not too sure though whether Isa will start the SL games rather than Walters. Can see Isa starting in the friendlies. Walters may appear a downgrade on KPP but Kai was poor at the start of the season. When he returned from injury he was almost a different player.
The backs and half backs seem self selection, our forwards will have to go some to retain their places. Two indifferent game and I can see a player going from starting to the bench.
Competition for places will be the order of the day in the pack whereas who would play where should one of the backs be injured or suffer a lack of form.
