What a dreadful thing!
Taste is the enemy of creativeness.

| Absolute legend, and one of the reasons I started watching
Great Britain and England international Des Drummond has today passed away at the age of 63.
The winger began his career at Leigh in 1976 playing over 250 games for the club and scored 26 tries the last time Leigh were crowned Champions in the 1981-82 season endearing himself to the club forever having also played in their Lancashire Cup Final triumph over Widnes in 1981.
Having played for the Western Suburbs in Australia in 1986, he joined Warrington in 1987 making over 150 appearances in the Primrose and Blue again racking up the tries. He would then play for the likes of Workington Town and Barrow retiring in 1997 after an over a two-decade long career in which he played for Great Britain over 20 times picking up his first cap at the age of just 24.

| Such a character and a fine player. I always chuckle at the dust up he had with Kevin Iro at Wembley in 1990. It was a symbol of the fact he wouldn’t back down against anyone.
RIP

| Was announced before stef Ratchford’s testimonial tonight. In shock. I grew up watching Dessie. What a tough, tough man. The way he flew in off his wing to smash his opposition centre was borderline illegal. Searing pace too of course, the only man I ever saw who caught Martin offiah from behind. Incredible athlete, taken far too young. RIP mate, thanks for everything.

| Sad news and has come as a huge shock to many, far too young.
I remember Des playing for Warrington and at Wembley against us in the CC final, very tough and difficult to put down.
Rest In Peace x

| Sad sad sad news.
Great player, tough and always smiling.
To say he was rapid as well is an understatement. For the older on here, remember Superstars when he ran an Olympic qualifying time for the 100m!!!
RIP Dessie. Respect.
