Quote BOTCH="BOTCH"I am very firmly in the camp of not buying anything with the new badge on.
I do not understand the need to change and more importantly the way it was handled was awful.
In our house that results in 4 less shirts plus all the other stuff that we all buy.
I know they told us that we had record sales last year but i just do not beleive it.
Surely we sold more during those wembley trips? although keeping records was not a priority back then it seems.
I agree that its not the MOST important thing but it does matter.
We have been here before when they tried introducing that awful design on the blue oval of the guy with the sheild.
We were told that it was all done "get over it"
It was not and we reverted to the "proper badge"'"
What don’t you understand about the need for change? There are two very clear reasons in my opinion.
1 - financial - they have explained it’s a lot cheaper to use the new badge which should hopefully result in the club increasing revenues & therefore profit.
Something I think we can all agree on is needed given the fact IL has to use his own personally money to allow us to break even.
2 - the club want to be more modern, more digitised and to attract and appeal to the younger audience. The badge will apparently allow them to do that.
Something I think we can all agree on is Wigan need more fans and targeting youngsters is a good way to go.
Do you understand the reasons the club gave or don’t agree with them? They are two very different things and by boycotting such purchasing you are just cutting your nose off to spite your face.
