Pressure off Smith initially, Cust and Tommy starting halves. A lot of 2020 games Smith would start on the bench and have a positive impact when he came on.

It could be a strong year for Smith if we take the burden off him. As NSW says above he had a very positive impact at times when coming off the bench and effectively becoming starting half last year did his development no favours. I think Cust will go extremely well and I just hope Tommy has a renaissance last year as often happens. Feeding Smith in for regular game time but without the pressure of expectation he had last year could be the making of him.
