Warrington was always the worst for the racial abuse that Henderson and Ellery suffered,they had their own black player in Des Drummond but that never stopped them from chucking bananas on the pitch.Although it's not as bad as it was it's still bubbling away under the surface

I’ve never met Gilly but I believe that he is a real gent and quite a funny guy.
I’d love to meet him and have a photo with him. I know that my grandson would love it too.
One of my all time favourite players. A fantastic winger and a true entertainer. |

I agree, when we played Saints in the Challenge Cup Semi at Wire in 2011 Gilly and his lad walked the whole width of the pitch at the end of the match dressed with cherry and white scarves. His dancing and waving to the Wigan fans will go down in history. Not only a character but an incredible player back in the mid-late eighties. |
