| I've not googled to verify match details but I'm sure Rouges will correct me if I'm miles off
Hilton Park, Leigh
2nd Challenge Cup tie 1968
Capacity all ticket crowd (I'm pretty sure it was AT)
My first ever away game aged 10
None of my brothers would take me to the match so me mam asked a neighbour if I could go with her.
Mrs Seddon was a good neighbour, particularly if you played rugby outside of her house as she would gladly let you play there all day unlike some neighbours would would literally "pop" your ball if it went near their house
Mrs Seddon got the tickets and booked the coach. She was Wigan through and through and nobody but nobody could even suggest if we played badly or were a bad team. If they did god help them. (I'd be in trouble with some my recent postings!!)
On match day (could only have been on a Saturday I'm sure) me mam put me some butties for the long journey and Mrs Seddon had her 20 Park Drive, a "bottle" in her handbag and her brolly incase it rained.
Got on the coach at The Halfway House and the young lads at the back were singing away. We were off to Leyth a place I'd never really heard of and me dad confused by telling me that Leyth played in Red & White hoops. No one else can play in Red & White hoops I thought no one else but us! Mrs S soon put me straight by correcting me that we played in Cherry & White not a shoitie Red & White.
Don't remember the journey but I'm pretty sure Mrs S would have been telling what dirty gets Leigh were and we'd have to sort them out.
Don't remember much about the game either other than I could sort of feel the atmosphere and the game was a close tense game. Pretty sure fights broke out with regularity on the pitch and pretty soon one was going to breakout on the terraces.
Mrs Seddon got into an argument with a Leyth fan over a "dirty" tackle. Can't remember which player did what to who but this guy and Mrs Seddon were going at it hammer and tongue.
After several minutes of screaming at each other the guy pushed Mrs S away.
She reacted by repeatedly hitting him over the head with her brolly and quite literally beat him to the floor. All the fans nearby were roaring her on (obviously we must have been in the Wigan end) and after a while he was shouting for help.
The Wigan crowd were laughing and basically taking the urine out of the Leyether. From seemingly nowhere a copper came into the crowd moved Mrs S out of the way and picked the guy up.
Some commotion went on and after a while the copper escorted the Leyther away and the Wigan crowd were shouting and singing and cheering Mrs S.
Don't really remember much about the game but we won. 8v4 I think. I don't remember who scored and I don't remember much about the game but I knew I loved it.
I was hooked. We won. I was sure we would win every match and every away game was going to be at full to capacity. We were unbeatable and I was a supporter of the greatest rugby team in the world.
Coming off the ground Mrs S had obviously become a bit of a celebrity and loads of people were shouting their support to her and as we were all walking off the ground roaring with laughter.
When we got on the coach everybody started cheering when we got on. Obviously word had got around and people had been waiting for Mrs S to get back to the coach. Her facing was beaming.
She had a lovely smile, particularly when we won. Nowt as nast when we lost. Wonder where I got that from?
From that day my love for the game and club just zoomed.

| Two very different ones for me.
1. Walking into such an iconic staidium as the Nou Camp as a Wigan rugby league supporter was special.
2. Leeds away in last game of mission impossible.

| Many many occasions . However TWO really stand out for me when I was there;
1) Wigan v Hull FC 1985 RL Challenge Cup Final at Wembley.
2) Wigan v Manly 1987 - Central park - World Club Challenge.

| It's amazing how looking back most of my favourite moments don't involve winning a trophy. Here are a few of my favourites:
1. The entire 2010 season. I started following Wigan properly around 2003 when I was 10 years old so for so long I had got used to not seeing Wigan compete so to do what we did with just the addition of Deacon to the playing squad was phenomenal. Looking back maybe I remember 2010 being better than it actually was because that was when I left high school and I seem to remember a long, hot Summer of watching Wigan win practically every game.
2. Away at Warrington in the Challenge Cup in 2011, the atmosphere in the away end that day was like nothing I'd experienced before or since.
3. The play off win at Bradford in 2007. Unfortunately I couldn't go as I had my tonsils removed the day before but seeing Calderwood race away for that try got me up off the couch cheering with no voice.
4. Surviving in 2006, the way everyone got behind the team was phenomenal and the DW was bouncing every week.
5. Magic Weekend 2012. The weather was great and the performance against Saints was great.
6. Nou Camp in 2019. Admittedly the result was disappointing but it was a great weekend.
7. The 2018 Grand Final. It wasn't the best game but winning the Grand Final on my actual birthday was the best present I could have hoped for.
These are just memories off the top of my head but seeing them written down does make me realise how lucky we are to support this club.

| Joe Lydon drop goal, Maine Rd.
This one is probably one of my earliest memories watching Wigan as a kid.
Just remember it being a really tight game and this drop kick just came out of nowhere, it was an absolute beast of a kick.
Wigan V Penrith is another one that stands out partly because of it being played at Anfield.
Special mention to the Quentin Pongia chip kick for Carney to score in the corner, possibly against Leeds or Saints?

| 1. 2010 Grand Final
2. 2006 Roller Coaster ride. How the heck that side struggled is down to 1 man.
3. 2007 Comeback against Bradford
4. 2013 Season we made it look easy
5. 2016 Walking out of Old Trafford wondering how did win the final after been poor that season.
6. 2011 lastinute Faz try against Saints place went nuts.
A Cheeky one Terry O'Connor scoring a try against Saints its awarded instantly only on the screens you see him drop it and laughs at it watching the screen.
