Quote moto748="moto748"Like a few others, I think, I find it hard to criticise Hastings too much, he has tried to carry this team on his own for too long. I certainly wish him well, and think he has been a great servant to the club. As fir the rest of them, after this dismal effort, who knows? Ordinary as Leeds were, as I said to a friend in the pub later, I'm damn sure Agar said to his team at half-time, don't worry, these guys are never going to score a try against you in a month of Sundays, just be patient, and the score will come. And so it proved.'"
I’m not sure the score would’ve come for Leeds had we picked a guy on the wing who can catch a high ball. If only we had one, one who has been playing week in week out for the last 6 weeks, one who has probably looked the safest catcher of a high ball I’ve seen come through since Rads, one who has been getting better and better but we mustn’t have one fitting that description and instead had to play a second rower at centre and move a lad who has been playing very well at centre on to the wing.
I’m not sure it made much difference but Lam refuses to help himself sometimes. It was a very very fitting way for him to finish his time here. He really should’ve ensured he had a full pack of juniors on at the end just to give him a cheap thrill before the off but I think he was a couple short.
