Last time no try in three consecutive games was 1933 (4-19 v Salford away in the League, 2-14 v Salford away in the play offs, 6-22 v Warrington away in the league the following year). There was no tackle count back then. A try was only worth 3 points so no surprises that kicks were more frequent.
Last time no try in three consecutive home games was 1904 (2-2 v Leeds in the league, 6-0 v Leigh in the South West Lancashire League, 2-5 v Salford in the League). I'm guessing that wasn't that big an issue though as we drew one and won one of those three, and there were away games where we scored tries in between. It was still 15 a side and the game stopped for a scrum after every tackle.

| Quote: DannyT "My issue with Lenagan is not his removal but his accountability to us. He’s hiding, has been hiding for a long time and it’s only fan discontent online that seems to have driven next week’s forum to be set up. I’ve slept on what happened last night and just find the situation embarrassing that club leadership has led us down this path. If it’s because of covid, I don’t know because the communication has been non-existent. It could be because of other factors but we haven’t been made aware. It’s the general apathy that comes form the club that is frustrating. We’ve heard plenty from Radlinksi about whiskey and re-branding, initially plenty from Lenagan about the Latics takeover/ground purchase and then radio silence. I don’t expect anyone to come in and take over but I just expect better and I don’t think that’s too much to ask.'"
I don't disagree with any of that. I think you're spot on.
A small part of me thinks back to the early part of the season when Martin Sadler announced on good authority that the club was in the final stages of transition to Danson. IL was swift (for once) to denounce this. Sadler then advised he stood by his original report and that his source was good.
No smoke without fire. If behind the scenes secret preparations were indeed to retire then no wonder why his heart doesn't seem to be in it anymore. We all know IL is the type to announce only on his terms but surely any backtracking now (by announcing during the off season) would only show there was truth in the article.
Have you ever handed in your notice and have to give a month's notice, that final week where you still show up in body but your head can't be bothered? It feels like that.

| Quote: NSW "Gildart has been simply embarrassing this year and shouldn’t play for us again.
I was defending him for weeks coming back from a long injury lay off but he should return his wage his week. Glad he got hooked.
Play Halsall at left centre or Bibby there and Halsall right wing for our final 4 defeats'"
Sitting in the south stand it looked like we actually created an overlap in the first half with Marshall getting a walk in if Gildart had simply moved the ball on, shocking lack of basic skills.
Either he's taking the mick or Wests are in for a hell of a shock when he turns up for their pre-season

I forgot about the Sadler stuff, it came from nowhere and then seemed to be handled quite abruptly and petty.

I’ve read some strange comments on forums but that takes the biscuit.
Because they are being paid to perform?
Fans pay for the privilege of attending matches and can choose whether to attend or not..
Players are professional sportsmen under contract and paid to to a job.
There is a slight difference.

It’s also strange in that it makes no sense. Our last two crowds look to have been two of the biggest of any club since crowds returned (certainly the Saints game was the biggest full stop). Yes our crowds have dipped over the years but if Wigan players fail to find motivation to play in front of crowds of our size, I’m struggling to imagine how non fussed players at some other clubs must feel.
