Quote: Darwen Warrior "Covid has brought a whole series of problems, no doubt about it but, talking purely about our league position, I do think it would have been better under Wane.
The point I made, though, and the point everyone seems to have been missing, was what was the point of bringing in Mike Danson? I am hoping that he will be the logical successor to IL, once IL feels it is time to hand over. Someone to oversee the general safe keeping of the club, to make the correct decisions on and off the pitch, sponsorship, youth development and so on. Importantly, we would have (and currently have) someone with the wealth to bring in a better calibre of player than we seem to be aiming for now.'"
Perhaps the plan is for Danson to take over as owner once IL does decide to step back, in that case maybe his investment was on the one hand a place holding deposit so that he remains as front runner when the day comes for IL to sell up and on the other hand was also a helpful injection of capital to get the club through last year to ensure it will still be around to be taken over. Further funds may only be forthcoming should he take over fully from IL.
