Got out of jail there. Can’t see what excuses there are for that first half performance. It just wasn’t competent and first game of the season or not there is no real excuse for that.

If IL was thinking of saving some money by not spending George Burgess wages I think a rethink is required.

For me hardaker showed exactly what I was talking about regarding him being a different class to sarginson. Came up with a game breaking play when we needed it.

Thought the squad looked a little light and so it was the case better teams than Leigh (who gave good value to be fair)will turn that side over so maybe look see to see if any wingers are available Hanley is a way off being ready just yet.

Best opening game we could’ve hoped for. We have had a shambles of a pre season considering how long it’s been and we’ve won Leigh’s cup final. The club need to wake up on how a big club needs to act but ultimately they’ve dodged a bullet because the players are conditioned to dig as deep as you can go.

The only way is up.

I wonder how much of the first 30 mins had to do with pre-season games. Leigh having 2 and our 3/4 of our first team having half a game. We took a long time to get into 1sr gear, when we did it was 20 - nil. Not the disaster some will make it out to be.

I still feel our pack is a bit young, missing 1 grown up in the front row.

Thought it would be like that, happy to sneak the two points but we'll definitely need some 3/4's back next week, Wakey will murder us for pace if we don't.

Harry Smith takes loads of credit out of tonight. He had such a tough day in that Salford friendly and then he goes in to tonight and runs that fightback. We had no chance without him and I’m really pleased that he’ll walk away from tonight really confident.
