| Scrums for knock ons, 6 again for ruck infringements and penalties for offsides, high shots and fowl play.

| It's been less rare in the NRL with the latest rules tweaks. But actually I'm not opposed to the 'giving the players a rest' argument, and I think a dead-set insistence on speeding the game up in every way possible does not lead to the best contests. The game is already quick in that respect compared to RU and its endless stoppages.

| Quote Grimmy="Grimmy"Bring back scrums for me once it's deemed to be an acceptable risk in terms of COVID. By introducing '6 again', continuing to reduce the number of interchanges and removing scrums, I think there is a real danger that we create too high a focus on stamina. Already we have backs taking on work that used to be done by props, and more teams grubbering into touch at the end of sets for a short breather. Teams are scared of the extra fatigue caused by losing the ball so they play more conservatively now than ever before.
I want there still to be a place for big guys and expansive rugby, if we keep removing these rests we are going to see less and less of that IMO, which is less entertaining and shuts the door on many players we would enjoy watching.'"
Agree with all of that except the interchanges part Grimmy
I would add that in time all players could become the same size and shape. No room for small guys or really big guys. The Aussies would lead the way with 6 foot 3 inch 15 and a half stone players across the park. Aussies invariably go for brawn above everything else

I'm not saying they're all bad moves, I'm in favour of six again for example. But doing them all could completely push out the big guys which would be bad from an entertainment perspective IMO, as well as pushing some players out of the game.

I like the 6 again but would like to see more yellow cards for repeat indiscretions

| I like the NRL method and some good tries have been scored from scrums this season

We haven't had scrums in rugby league for forty years.

| If there are scrums in the World Cup next year, will we be at a disadvantage not having had scrums in the domestic game for over 12 months?
Keep the six again rule, but re-introduce scrums as soon as deemed safe to do so.

The boss of the NRL has indicated he wants the rules for packing the scrums tightened up for 2021 as he believes they are currently a mess.
Will be looked at when the rules committee meet next which I think is later this month.

I agree entirely, now too much emphasis on speed at the expense of individual skill.
Without any form of scrums, we might as well has well have a team of players who are all the same size like they are in American Football.
