Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Did I expect him to make the kick?no. Would I have fancied one of our team to kick a drop goal with loads of pressure?no. I think the right decision was probably made. Fans would have moaned had we kicked in the corner and lost. It was so unlucky, French had a bit of a mare at the end but Hardaker hitting the bar and Hastings being harshly penalised made the difference.
The match itself was great, our defence was amazing, we should be up there next season.

You do realise that Joe Burgess, Liam Marshall and Tom Davies all have better "strike rates" than Makinson. However what Makinson does really well is carrying the ball from his own quarter and along with Jermaine McGillvary is probably the best in the league at it. Tom Davies also does that job well.

He'd be a great try scorer though in a team that passes to its wingers.
