Beat me to it...never a penalty. Not bitter in the slightest, but Saints really didn’t deserve that. If Fages doesn’t give JH a slap and has a paddy nothing happens there...touch judge jumped in to give it after Kendall originally called no penalty.

Pathetic decision which has lost us the game.

Actually it was an Amateur decision.

C’mon guys we lost, let’s not start looking for excuses. We had more than enough chances to win the game but didn’t take them. Credit to both teams that was a fantastic game of rugby league.

Zak won Cas two games with penalties from our own half.
One very similar away at Catalans with a minute or so to go.
He can make the distance, but just didn’t this time.

Just another big game lost when all is said and done. Played our part and the rate of improvement has taken us to a chance of keeping us in with a shout in the future. We just lack something to get us over that line like the Noble years.

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Did I expect him to make the kick?no. Would I have fancied one of our team to kick a drop goal with loads of pressure?no. I think the right decision was probably made. Fans would have moaned had we kicked in the corner and lost. It was so unlucky, French had a bit of a mare at the end but Hardaker hitting the bar and Hastings being harshly penalised made the difference.
The match itself was great, our defence was amazing, we should be up there next season.

Beyond gutted but what a game, congrats to Saints

I’ve always said Smithies will cost us a big game sooner or later with his stupid penalties. Tonight was the night , absolutely no need to put the shoulder in . I fail to see what he offers to be honest
The pen against Hastings was harsh and the decision to go for two at the end was plain wrong
Saints were never on side all night but neither were we to be honest
We were getting the ball out wide well but Bibby bombed a few chances before he grabbed his try. It was crying out for a change , we should have put Zak full back , Bibby centre and French on the wing . French showed tonight why he doesn’t play NRL against defences like that week in week out .
Tommy had a good game . Powell was unusually quiet in attack .
Gildart played well and I thought Partington was outstanding . Greenwood didn’t looked too bothered , a waste of space at times. Isa has been great all season and hit anything that moved tonight
Saints defended fiercely and rode their luck a couple of times . The game really could gone either way but what a sickening way to lose

On to next season

Hard to argue with any of that Brick.
