| That’s enough for me.
I’ve stuck by him for a season and a half but Lam nothing more than an interim coach. We should have been firing on all cylinders under Edwards right now. Do you think he would have lost 42-0 to Saints? Would he have the boys come out for a semi looking completely lost?
Lenegan get looking mate. On paper Lam has one of the best Wigan rosters in the last 10 years, and it’s the worst rugby we’ve played since 2008.

I bury my head in my hands sometimes at how little you value this club, or how little vision you have.
If Watson is even half the coach that many (including myself) think that he is, then he should be jumping at the chance to move to a Wigan, Saints or Leeds.
Yes - outside of Saint's, Salford are currently a better side, but I'd bet my house that over the next 10+ years we'll see more success than them. Up until Lam we've been a consistently top side. We've got a youth set up that even the NRL envy and some of the best facilities in the league too.
Hopefully IL isn't as shortsighted as you & others and goes hard after him. It's then up to IW to think hard about what he wants.

I can't think what our game plan was in ay of them. Leeds played the conditions perfect today - can anyone tell me what our game plan was?
Fully expect us to get to the last four and then lose when it really matters - Lam is completely out of his depth in big games and the team look like rabbits in the headlights when it matters.
I hope we're looking at a new coach for next season that isn't a mate of Radlinski.'"
We had one for this season, his name was Edwards, but the club preferred to do it their way rather than his.

You are right mate, 99.9% of the time rugby league games are won by the collective efforts of the team not by one person. Leeds were far superior.

I think we expect him to turn up and do the job but today he definitely didn't

Your hometown club is a big pull though.
Roby didn't leave for the NRL, nor did Lockers. Would SW coach another club? He didn't even want to play for another club.
Of course we're a bigger pull than Salford but he is quite literally a legend there.

How is it a lack of vision? I'm not saying don't try to get him. I'm saying I'm not convinced he would come. He's in a great position there, massively over performing with his home town team. He could not win another game all year and still be safe as well.

Three very different examples than Watson moving to us. To start off all three were at larger clubs and had every chance of achieving everything they wanted in the game. Roby and Lockers might not have wanted to go to the other side of the world, but I'm sure they wanted a chance to be consistently successful.
Would Wane coach another SL club? Probably not as he's already sat at the top of the tree. He'd definitely coach an NRL club tho as that's the next step.
I'm genuinely rooting for Watson here btw. Imo he's got two choices - continue to try the same as he is I.e overachieving, but having to see guys like Hastings, Bibby, Jones, Evalds, Dudson move on. Or go to a top side and potentially unlock a decade of competing at the top. After that he might get snapped up for a top NRL job and continue to grow that way.
It's harsh, but maintaining Salford as a top team is a hell of a lot more hard work than it seems as the cards are stacked against him.

| As Grimmy says, he doesn't have to keep them as a top team.

Because it's the same tunnel vision that many of our fans have and what's lead to us being just another team.
Every time a fan suggests a big name signing, dares to talk about grand plans for the future or criticises a limited ability player you can bet your bottom dollar certain fans will pop up and shoot them down. It's either why would x come to us, we shouldn't risk doing Y or every team needs a Isa type player.
There's a serious lack of wanting to us be truly great again.
As I've said in a previous post - Watson will have to pull the proverbial rabbit out of the hat every year to maintain his success. He might be ok with that glass ceiling, who knows.
All I know is the challenge and potential rewards of being the head coach at Wigan, Saints or Leeds are absolutely life changing.
