Let's not beat around the bush here there's a big lack of sympathy from me. I don't have a short memory and I certainly remember the lack of sympathy thrown our way when we had that awful day. In fact I remember them revelling in the 60+ points they put on us.
Will I gloat like they did - probably not? But is it the definition of Karma and a lesson to all fans about celebrating such results? Most definitely.'"
Their players have a potentially life threatening condition (if not life threatening to them, then to their loved ones, who may be more vulnerable). That's a lot more important than who wins a game of rugby. I absolutely have sympathy for them.

| Quote: Grimmy "Yes, as I say it's tight. I see why the on field officials didn't pick it up, and the video ref didn't have enough evidence to overturn it. Obviously my thoughts are immaterial the same as yours, doesn't stop us talking about it!
Hall - you keep going back to control, that's not a factor in it. Yes I do think Hall's should have been awarded. He had downward pressure on the ball IMO, never any separation after he touched it.'"
Don't misunderstand me. I didn't mean immaterial in that sense. All opinions are immaterial except the ref's. I meant immaterial with regards to this discussion as thinking something is not the same as being able to prove it. Not a single frame of footage shows separation so for you to think something has no bearing on proving your point (purely within the framework of this discussion). So when you advocate "no try" I'm asking for you to illustrate why. (That being the point of a discussion, no?)
The Ryan Hall was exactly the same in that at no point could separation be shown, therefore "try".
You're not wrong EC!

For me, he doesn't move his hand and yet the ball begins to move, that's why I'm saying no try. Yes some part of his hand/arm may have still been on it, but I think the ball starts moving early enough that it's more likely to have completely separated. All chip paper now of course and as you say, there's no definitive shot to completely prove it.

Can't agree with your "more likely to have completely separated" comment. Based on what? It's equally likely to have stayed in contact. There is no empirical way to favour one scenario over the other. It's a 50-50 at best.
All chip paper now though as you say and the chip papers agree it was a try
