On numerous occasions yesterday we had 2 players holding up an opponent whilst a third attacked the legs. I cringe every time I see it. Re Flower, his approx 10 metres gained yesterday won’t be missed imo.

I recall not thinking the Flower one was too bad but there was one in the second half, down towards the North Stand that looked a shocker. I guess that was Partingtons and it sounds like he’s on for 3-5 games.

The art of the crusher or cannonball tackle are only taught in the Wigan school of thuggery, no other player has ever attempted this before.

According to a post on the VT we actively encourage it

I always like to think that should one of these cannonball or crusher type tackles result in one of our lads being seriously injured, a broken back for example, that the VT would be up in arms and we’d see a 30 page thread bemoaning it, just like we see if a Wigan player makes one of these tackles.

I know how fair all the guys are over there and they treat everyone, no matter their club, the same and we’d never see a thread with hardly a contribution in that circumstance of a Wigan player getting that serious injury (don’t know why but a broken back keeps coming to my mind).
