If he (Hastings) isn’t coming we should not stand in his way or try and force him to come. It does neither party any good and for us would detract from an otherwise promising season.
It’s pretty simple for me; Jackson, are you coming yes or no? If yes, we crack on and kill these rumours. If no we negotiate a release with him/his new club and immediately target a new HB or go with what we’ve got. Someone mentioned George Ford before, that would be one hell of a move and I for one would back that 100%.
We can’t let this saga embarrass us as a club like the Shaun Edwards saga. We waited too long to act on that despite rumours swilling around for weeks beforehand, we need to get out in front of this one and be utterly brutal in it as well. We need to come out looking better than Jackson, even if that means some uncomfortable truths for him.

As a Salford fan I can guarantee he won't 'half-ass it'. In his first game for us when he had no bond with the club yet he worked so hard that he had to be taken off after half an hour as he was exhausted - still had to be dragged off though. He'll be out to prove that he wants to be there. We did enjoy the 'banter' over the last week but we all wish him well and look forward to playing you. |

I bet him £200 to Joining Jack that Hardaker would be here at the start of the year and he disappeared once it was time to pay up. I feel bad about it to be honest as he seemed like a nice guy, just a bit easy led with rumours. RichieS - if you're reading this, come back pal, we'll forget the bet  |
