| Quote Jukesays="Jukesays"Anyone who wants criticise Sarignson needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.
As always (same at HKR last week) another 80 minutes of tremendous effort.
And again, another 80 from Isa
That must be his 17th/18th 80 in a row?'"
Agreed Sarginson played very well. Made some mistakes defensively in the first half though e.g. Merrin try, so couldn’t put him over Hardaker. As another poster said, need Sarginson, Hardaker and Hankinson all in the squad... just not sure how.

They’re targets when we lose and that’s a real shame because both are great squad players in a salary capped sport. I hope we’re in talks with Sarginson to extend his stay. If we could just get a deal over the line to have him as a pure utility covering across the back line it would be smart business for me.
Funny to see the pair of them pushing and shoving at each other on the way off at half time. With some players you’d worry about team spirit but I believe they’re good mates and I’d take it as a sign of passion.

| Thought his tackling was excellent, showed that hitting low is the way to go

| Fair play to Powell as well, he put the shift in and took a few for the team

So sarge, isa and Powell
3 of the players that certain fans want to have a go at are 3 of the better players playing 80mins again like every week.

| Great night with Saints tonking Hudds, hopefully Catalans and Wire will do us a favour tomorrow and with one of Salford/Wakey losing points on Sunday maybe we can start looking up and not over our shoulders.

| Though Powell ran well from dummy half for a change, looked a proper hooker today, long may it continue

| Great effort and structure in defence, bar a couple of slip ups.
Clubb's stepped up a gear since signing a contract (normally goes the other way with our lot), Powell was all over the show but I thought Farrell was a class above - thank god he's back.
Having said that our attacking game and general kicking was very poor again. I only say that after a win as Lam's post match comments have gone way OTT, not for the first time. We're a poor team but hopefully these wins might be a bit of a springboard.

| It certainly wasn’t a pretty spectacle and our attack and attacking kicks are still some way off but it was enough to beat a far below par Leeds team.
I’m not really sure how Powell was MOM; repeatedly gave away penalties for ripping the ball and offered little in attack but credit where it’s due he was brilliant in defence.
Hankinson stepped up a gear for me too managing to keep a dangerous Hurrell generally quiet and he made some outstanding one on one tackles. In attack he didn’t really put a foot wrong. An encouraging performance from him and certainly a step in the right direction to prove some of us, me included, wrong.
Clubb looks a different player from the one pre contract signing. He was solid in attack, nothing spectacular but a prop isn’t supposed to be. Just solid and consistent throughout.
I’m not sure what the thought process behind putting Sammut on the bench and not bringing him on was. My only guess is that he was there as a contingency for injuries. His non inclusion, even when we were lacking in creativity, speaks volumes about Lam’s opinion of him.
Pleased to see Liam Farrell back up to his old tricks and linking up well with Williams and Gildart. Smithies was outstanding once again, what a talent he is. A very promising player. Partington played well, ran a fantastic line for his try too.
I concur with MadDogg re Lam’s post match interview. He made us sound like world beaters when we’re hundreds of country miles away from the standard St Helens have set. If you watched their drubbing of Huddersfield highlights, their attack puts ours to shame.
Not pretty but a win is a win. Huddersfield up next which is unpredictable. I hope we kick on from here now and just keep improving week on week.

| Against Leeds any other year we get demolished. I'm relieved at the win, I'm not enthused by it. We still look bang average at best, very poor with the ball. Some great effort and endeavour, but no craft, no intelligence.
