If Edwards wanted his contract to sign because the Wigan club was slow in producing it. He should call the club as talk to someone, not tell journalists in a press conference.

In the past, I’ve agreed on contracts with companies and started before the contract was drawn up. In one job after about 5 months I needed to remind them I didn’t have my contract yet. I had started was being paid what we agreed. All this was done privately because that is the way to do it.

There is no reason to go public unless you want out and are trying to not look like you are at fault.

Easily led by wanting to wait for the whole story to come out?

We have no idea what has gone on behind the scenes. Both sides are acting like they are in the dark. Both sides can be accused of lying or as you put it being grubs. May i remind you that the club told the world that Edwards had signed a 3 year contract.

I think this has come from the fans wanting clarification , facts have been stated and it 'could' all still play out as intended , as a Wiganer a verbal contract might have been good enough in IL and SE eyes , its possibly an out of work Edwards who wants to get the contract signed , if someone at Wales asked him if he was taking over he could have said no and been correct , because until he put pen to paper then hes right. might just be a storm in a teacup.

And very soon after started flogging Season Tickets with images of Lam and Edwards on the promotional pictures.

Is that so? ....you know you could sue the club for the price of the season ticket for actually mis-leading packaging practice....well certainly before we leave the EU. It's an eu law.
And I'm serious.

Let’s not forget that Edwards did a 30 minute interview on Sky saying he was excited to become the Wigan coach. I very much doubt that would have happened if he hadn’t at least agreed the terms etc. We can say that Wigan announced him (which we did) but why would he have done the interview if the deal wasn’t done?

I have to say that I'm utterly bemused by the individuals on here who seem hellbent on exonerating Shaun Edwards from any blame in this - not the Warrington trolls; they are transparently trying to cause trouble and aren't worth engaging. But the Wigan fans. It's reached the point where I'm quite suspicious about their motives.

It's very apparent that SE was heavily involved in promoting this deal both in newspapers and on TV, so if there was any kind of deception, he 100% participated in it.

I guess you guys are just going to have to wait and see, Edwards has said he hasn't signed, not that he isn't going to.

I think the new Wales coaches comments confirms Edwards has been tying himself up in a few knots telling porkies here and there. That’s not to say Wigan are blameless as you don’t say somebody has signed a contract when they’ve not but there’s no way Edwards is a victim in all this. It’s clear the bloke has tried to use us as a fall back option in case nothing better came along IMO. That’s pretty poor form from somebody who is still seen as a hero to many around these parts.

I haven't commented so far but privately in discussion with others my first reaction was that no-one looks good or comes out of this with any credit.

What I will say though is I echo your sentiments about our own "Fans". As you said the other day in one reply about posters who have tried to criticise the running of the club, Wane, KR, IL, etc for the past 5/6 years they "May" actually be right for once.
But I wouldn't guarantee it, and as I say now and again, even a blind squirrel will find nuts once in a while if it tries hard enough.
