Quote: NickyKiss "Ideal world-
Lenagan finds a buyer who is as cashed up as he is passionate for Wigan and who isn’t a Koukash style lunatic.
We sort the whole Edwards mess out and by that I mean we bin it off. As I said at the time, if he comes he comes for 2019 or not at all.
We ask Shaun Wane to come back. There’s times that even a Wane backer like me became frustrated with the grinding rugby but by god what a job he did looking at this rabble.
We invest properly in the team. We keep our best players like every other club manages to do. Saints have tied Walmsley, Makinson, Roby and Lomax down yet we can’t keep anyone on anything other then a ‘give us a year or two deal then we’ll let you go’ arrangement.'"
Wane decided to leave. He's gone. Get over it. I'll give him credit for jumping ship at the right time given the current squad.
The problem is at the top. We have failed miserably to retain players like Saints retained Walmsley, Makinson, Roby and Lomax and before them it was Leeds who kept hold of their players compared to us. IL's policy of letting them break contracts to leave if they agreed to come back was pathetic and something I always objected to.
You are right about IL needing to find a buyer. He is neither rich enough nor capable of securing sufficient sponsorship for the club. He's basically retired from business so his only asset to the club is how well he runs it as CEO which currently is poor.
