So it turns out that the statue wasn't damaged last night after all. I'm trying not to point the finger or divert blame away from us but I wouldn't be surprised if it was done by some travelling fans when Latics played on Wednesday night. But if it has been done by a Warriors fan then they should be dealt with, this sort of thing isn't helpful or needed when tensions can run high at times between Latics and Warriors fans.

Happens all over the world every day on special monuments. Scholeshenge was done a few months back. Statues etc act as beacons for vandals but pointing the finger at Warriors fans is the easy thing to do. Why would we. It's not as if we have anything to be envious about. Some of the balloon heads that frequent Wigan Athletic on match days that infiltrate my local boozers with cocaine, spitting on the floor etc i wouldn't be surprised if it's one of their own fans doing it to stir it up. I was a season ticket holder at the football for years but the moronic view of their fans drove me out. Was sick to death of hearing 'Rugby this, rugby that, our stadium' blah, blah, blah. Hope they go down personally but i don't want to see statues of Whelan defaced after all he has done for the town. Think he deserves a bit more respect than that whatever peoples views of him.

I suspect that a high profile rugby game at the DW packed with three times the number of Wiganers than turn out for their games, a relegation struggle and the return of free tickets this Saturday has reminded them that they are well and truly a 2nd rate sport in Wigan and tipped the knuckledraggers over the edge once more.
