We lost that period badly at Wembley and never really recovered, despite the opportunities to grasp the nettle in the final 20 minutes and pinch the game. We were much better in the opening 20 minutes against Saints last Thursday, and against Wigan in the CC. The main objective that we didn't concede a try (even after 40 minutes IIRC). Wire had enough in the final 20 minutes of these games to see it through.
I cannot see the final being a try fest, although you just never can tell in this game, and whichever side gets a lead of six or more points will have a big advantage.
It may well boil down to the fine margins of who's best at making less errors and giving away fewest penalties. Here's to an enjoyable day out!'"
From our perspective I’m hoping we can get a good start against Wire in a Grand Final for a change! We’ve been on the back foot in 2016 and 2013 with silly errors and Wire have gone in front. Since the 2010 GF I’ve yet to come away from one feeling we’ve really hit top form and I’m crossing my fingers Saturday will see us do that.
The one thing that keeps giving me the creeps is that Wire simply must and will win a title one day and that day could be Saturday. You must be due everything dropping in to place and I’ve always felt when Wire do finally win one, it’ll be unexpected and come on the back of a year of ups and downs rather then a season of flying along building up hype.
