Quote: Phuzzy "True. And the same goes for the fans. I'm sure you think your ideas are in the best interests of the club but there's currently nothing to support that theory. SW has numerous trophies in the bank and currently has us sat nicely in the table playing some of the best rugby we've seen at Wigan in quite some time.
Just out of interest what makes you think your suggestion has any more validity than SW's assertion that his way is correct;something he can back up, not only with years of consistently competing for and winning trophies, but with how things are progressing this year too?'"
In short - nothing. That’s why I’m posting on a forum rather than being the Head Coach or whatever.
Things are progressing well, it’s simply unfathomable to suggest otherwise however I don’t think we will remain as contenders. Against teams considered as the top teams our performances were poor, albeit the Warrington game wasn’t long after landing back from the Australia venture. We looked awesome v Hull KR but it counts for nothing if we can’t play to that standard against Saints/Leeds/Warrington/Hull.
IMHO top teams have figured out our game plan and counter act it well. We look slow and lethargic against them and don’t look like scoring. Our defence against Saints & Warrington ensured the result wasn’t a run away. Considering the teams we’ve played I’m not getting carried away with this top try scorer business, it’s a good achievement thus far granted but the season isn’t won now. It’s won in October and that result on Monday papered over the obvious cracks for me.
I’ll give Wane his due, he has done well to win what he has and in the circumstances he has. I keep harping back to it but not replacing Harris & Deacon properly is coming back to bite us on the backside. I’m not convinced whatsoever that Wane’s attacking strategy is the way forward and I find his bash ‘em up strategy to be poor.
I’m happy at seasons end if we win the league or make the Grand Final to retract all doubts. I’m not sat here wanting Wane and Wigan to fail, what I am saying is that at seasons end IL needs to take stock and decide on what is best for the club removing all sentiment that will undoubtedly and understandably remain for Wane.
