| Quote: Edinburgh Warrior "Up the middle rugby all night . We were outplayed up the middle all night so why not use our wingers who can score tries for fun. Neither hardly saw the ball all night. They have been our go to players all season but we ignored them last night.
We seem unable to count to six these days and are in a panic time after time as to who will take the clearing kick. Even forwards have been kicks in the last few week. Total lack of organisation.
Tony Clubb and Bateman get the only pass marks . I worry about Bateman , the lad dosent know when to quit but it is getting to the stage where we are going to have to manage him better for his own good. He ran his blood to water last night and towards the end was going into tackles at the end practically unable to defend himself. I worry he is going to injure himself though his own bravery how the coach didn't see that and spell him at the end is beyond me.
Oh for 12 players with Batemans and Tony Clubb's attitude every week.
Rant over lol .
Regards , EW'"
Did you miss Bateman giving them a penalty under the sticks when we were 4 points down and about to be awarded a scrum with minutes to go? Can't fault his effort but that was the point we lost the game. He needs to learn when it's better just to laugh at them; junior and youth players manage it! Tony Clubb was unreal, incredible effort.

Both great forwards but I'd argue the lines they run are not as good as Bateman and Farrell. Just my opinion.

I'd love to think it would be the first one though because he's a unit and we do miss some size.'"
I'm quite hopeful that Young Wells is a great prospect longer term.
He is just a baby at the moment but I'm sure he will settle down and as you quite rightly say will add much needed bulk to our pack.

16304_1526976105.jpg [size=100:2md8k3b3][b:2md8k3b3]'Do you remember when we had that meeting in Orlando? We talked about how we were knocked out the previous year by Leeds. And at the end, I asked you one question. "Do you want to be a semi-final team? Or do you want to do something special?" You all said you wanted to win. But talking is easy – it needed you to believe. It needed you to work hard – harder than you had – and make sacrifices. You did all that. you worked for each other. You stuck together when it was tough. And because of your efforts, you sit here tonight as champions. I'm proud of you. Be proud of yourselves. You've done something special.'

| Quote: Levrier "Possibly, but I am more familiar with the growth spurt being upwards rather than outwards. Given that professional players generally have their diet specially produced for them, and that a player not sticking to their diet would suffer the wrath of the coaching staff, it would seem more likely that this is part of the plan. My worry is that he is being set up to fail by being brought up to size too quickly.
You are right that we tend to go with smaller forwards but as a whole players are getting more massive. This is partly because South Sea Islanders are seen as perfect body types for the game, unfortunately Wigan is not far enough South and we produce a lot of short stocky forwards. This is possibly Darwinian as those too tall were unable to work down the mine and therefore were too weak to breed. This could explain why the Northern Union decided to get rid of line outs.'"
Tall people to weak to breed? Short, stocky types absolute fertility machines? This forum's gone a bit 'Handmaid's Tale' all of a sudden!
