| Quote Rogues Gallery="Rogues Gallery"Expect an announcement soon. The game will be played tonight according to twitter, unofficial but 90% certain, at Widnes.'"
No doubt because they told they were to be deducted points and fined for cheating again.

| So the world champions of rugby league bend over to help out in an unquantifiable way a lower league football side with fewer supporters?
If the game is played at Widnes, do they change their home fixture, or do you travel there twice? Gives Widnes an advantage that might help them come the top eight places, which might have a negative impact on my team. Why doesn't Lenagan put the wider interests of rugby league first over some football side no one watches?

| Quote Harrison="Harrison"In the same way that it's not fair for Widnes to have to play another week (2 already) with 2 games per week. It would be setting a precedent that you can decide you don't want to play a game because it doesn't suit you.
I don't want 2 free points. I want to watch the game I travelled 200 miles to see. If it was snow or an actual water logged pitch then oh well, but it's not taking place caus Wigan have decided it isn't taking place. They haven't followed the rules.'"
Firstly, it isn't fair on Widnes, not at all. Neither would it be fair for other teams to set the precedent of awarding points under the circumstances of a postponed game. Hypothetically, would it be fair on (say) wakey if the 2 put Widnes in the super 8s and them in the middles? They'd then miss out on some good crowds which Widnes would enjoy instead.
I don't know what the answer is but for me it can't be awarding two unearned points. Docking points is different: that only affects the club that offends. Awarding them (potentially) affects others too.

| up and brewery spring to mind.
I'd be livid if I was a Widnes fan, 8 hours notice of a home game.
I'm livid already, at this stage of the season a home game will always be deemed more important for Latics than the Warriors, set a precedent here, Latics take priority even though they are'nt wold champions, aren't playing at the highest level and have fewer fans - Its a joke Lenegan, sort it out you muppet !

| EW and all up here plus one fron Belfast have cancelled and lost money and missed trains that we could still have used . Lennigan wants to give his head a wobble and keep quiet until all the facts are clear and set in stone . Getting to Widnes would not have been a problem if we had all the plans still in place as we would have been down early doors .
What kind of nutters are running this great club . Just got a call from ross telling me this game is on and im not a happy Wigan Fan

| What is completely wrong is that the decision to postpone the game appears to have been made without consultation. An RFL official, a groundsman, safety officer etc should have been involved. Wigan deserve a big fine IF they didn't follow the correct protocol.
