| Quote BD="BD"To be fair, Solomona's agent has links (i.e. they own companies together) to Ian Lenegan, so he's swinging but not that wide.
FWIW I don't understand this animosity between the clubs.'"
I believe the hostility dates back to season 2006 when we were relegated, and Wigan blatantly fiddled the salary cap figure to stay up.

| Quote sergeant pepper="sergeant pepper"If you cared about keeping him in the game you'd have sold him to Wire. He'd then still be in the game as you put it and getting paid his worth.
Let's not beat around the bush, he's coming off a record breaking season and that's pushed his value up above and beyond his current deal. If you wanted to keep him then match the offer Wire gave on his wages. If you couldn't do that then sell him.'"
Based on that theory, we should be halving the wages of the Tomkins brothers, neither of whom have ripped up trees for their high salaries.

Still crying over this
We reconfigured existing player contracts, to backload them into future seasons - in turn freeing up space in the 2006 season to sign Fielden. No rules were broken (the same practice had occured previously in the NRL even). Lots of crying ensued and the RoFL made up a rule to punish us. The End.

I suspect it's more to do with us beating at your own pad last season when, for some reason best known to yourselves, you'd convinced yourselves you were going to win.

Oh was that the game when we celebrated with a celebratory team photograph like the winners we are, Or are they still angry about Kelvin Skerrett's swinging arm?

I think Kelvin spent to many evenings in the pubs and clubs of Cas with mams of Cas fans. It's the only rational explanation I can come up with. That or the other alternative rationale is that we really are the club of the devil.

Yes thanks for that "reconfigured" did that include Radlinski coming out of retirement for the remainder of 2006's, playing for "no fee" to aid the team during their personnel struggle.

| I'd like to look back on how we responded to 2006:
Noble steadied the ship.
New ownership.
Concentrated on youth development.
Brought in an ambitious assistant coach from the NRL.
Topped the League.
Won Super League.
Won the Challenge Cup.
Replaced coach with Wigan born assistant coach.
Won Super League.
Won Challenge Cup.
Another couple of seasons just missing out as Champions.
Won Super League with half a team, made up of young Wigan lads.
How have Cas done since 2006?

| Is anyone aware of what the current level of funding provided to clubs by the RFL is? This is always going to be a significant portion of revenue for the clubs and until this increases on a major scale we'll always be one step behind.
The next NRL funding agreement for example is muted to be around 130% of their current salary cap (currently $6.1m) per season. Are we even in the same ball park?
