| Plenty of players fit in this category but two in particular who have proven shrewd acquisitions are Frank Paul and Willie Isa for me. By no means our best players or even match winners but they've both impressed me and bought well into the clubs culture.

| Early on in the season I criticised Willie Isa saying that he wasn't up to Wigan standard. I was wrong.
You only began to appreciate him as the season wore on. Unspectacular, but ran hard every carry, rarely dropped the ball. Tackled hard every time and rarely gave penalties away.
He was 7 out of 10 every game. Never a 9 and never a 5. I hope he enjoys a well earned rest. His knee looks like it could do with it.

| Here here. I thought Isa was a very solid player and really helped us a great deal this season, a very astute signing.

| When Isa signed I posted that a friend of ours who works for Widnes was "gutted" when he left. He said "He'll give you 100% every game, run hard and tackle anything that moves, if he gives a couple of penalties away it's because he's knackered and has given everrthing"
How right he was.
Did anyone notice he claimed the match ball on Saturday and wasn't going to lose it.

| Isa is a very likeable guy who plays the game 100%, I wish he was a bit bigger as he would be immense with the way he plays. He is Mr dependable and every team needs them. He has been a consistent in a season full of inconsistency (injuries).

| I did post on here earlier in the season that I thought Isa was doing a good job for us and he has maintained that, he will never be a top player but is a very solid, dependable squad player who always gives 100%, which is all you can ask. Every team needs players like that.
