There is no excuse for leading with the elbow. Putting you arm in this position when attacking an opposition player with or without the ball is unacceptable and clearly dangerous.
It's not poor technique. A charge down is characterised by straight arms stretching upwards, not completely bent arms leading with the point of the elbow.
Given his record of attacking the head of players without the ball, I'd expect 4-5 games.
