| if maurice lindsay were dead he'd be turning in his grave. he one famously said on national tv that Wigan was a rugby league town, always was, always will be. Ask yourself this, do Wigan Athletic have to move ANY game to facilitate Wigan rugby and their fixtures ? have they played away games for over a month solid ? then u get cruncher saying its not the end of the world., we should be used to it. tell u what, lets take it to that corporate magnet called Millwall FC, show the world how forward thinking we are. Would be better than last summers debacle, wigan v catalan at millwall on at the same day as England v ireland at twickenham. We are bounding forward at such a rate. Went to Dewsbury sunday, cracking little club, great set up. No one will tell them to move a QF tie to batley !!!! Wigan always a rugby league town ..... I think not !

Live in the real world, mate. It's the price-tag of a shared stadium. Unhappy as we may be, all the ranting in the world won't change the economics of the situation.
And the current administration were not the ones who got us into this mess.
Also, Maurice's main contribution was to make it worse by bringing us perilously close to relegation - if that had happened, then you'd really have learned the meaning of the term 'second-class citizens'.

Well, there's Hull KR and Salford this year where the date/time of the fixtures were not made public until very late in the day. The cup tie last year at Leigh wasn't announced straight away, and I'm still awaiting news on which regular season home game will be moved to London and which stadium it will be played at, and the fixtures have been out since last November!

| I can handle all the chopping and changing of fixtures venues its now part and parcel of Superleague / Cup games . Its the very late notice of these changes that is the annoying part of it all . Especially if you are not local to the Wigan area . A little bit of notice is all that is required for me anyway .
Regards , EW

Do you think they tell us when they know or are they keeping the venue secret so they can sell less tickets maybe?
Moving a venue isn't just a case of naming a date and time, presumably the Police have to okay it, then you have to arrange stewarding, carparking, food etc, get the agreement of the RFL and the visiting team and so on.
It's not a case of meeting at the local rec and putting down some jumpers for posts!

| Salford home ? HKR home ? in both cases the club knew well in advance there were possible problems and said nowt (IL admitted as much on Wigan TV)
A simple please note this game could be subject to a date / time change . Would save a lot of us from buying advance transport / hotel tickets that were non refundable . But hey ho that's the life of a Rugby League fan .
As always regards , EW

Salford I agree but we knew Hull KR was Easter Monday from the outset, and the kick off was announced over a month in advance. I think the club cop a lot of unfair flak at times.

We have a shared stadium and this far have managed to avoid been messed about too much, whilst you seem to have been unfairly moved etc a few times.
What is the difference?

The difference is probably that your stadium isn't built in a swamp, so you don't face the necessity of completely digging it up at least once a year.

We are the tenant. The football club is the landlord effectively.
Am I right in saying that the KC is council owned?

Yes it's council owned, we have had small problems in the past as the people who run the stadium have always been involved with Hull City, think that has changed recentley and we seem to have a better relationship with them now.
