Lindsay was a revelation and a visionary for the sport. Only one eyed morons didn't and still don't realise what he did for the game.

Wigans dominance came under Lindsey and that's the reason people were fond of him.
Plus there simply wasn't the money in the game for everyone else to spend silly, that truly would have killed the game.

That is ridiculous. What do you mean there simply wasn't the money in the game? Leeds and Widnes spent big and the option to go and find their their own "gang of four" board of directors was open to any club.

Before Mo Lindsay & Co took over Wigan was run by a large board of directors and was going nowhere fast. They took over and the rest is history. I would bet my house that rather that happen the owners of clubs that moaned just didn't want to even consider others may be better suited to running their clubs and wanted to the glory from running the club, playing the "big I am". That in my view hasn't changed a great deal and is part of the problem.
