Quote: hengirl "The injury excuse has worn thin for me,many other clubs are blighted by them and arent crying into their milk too much about it,Wane got his excuses in so early with this game the wholeaffair seemed off,if there was a virus, and you have to take their word on that, then why in gods name wasnt the game called off at Wigans insistance? simply put if a virus goes through a club or a place of work then people get it at different times not all at once, sorry that game,if there is a virus should not have been played as Wigan simply did not have the players to put a full strength (or as near as damn it) side out.
I think the last couple of weeks have shown the squad clearly doesnt have the depth people thought it had,the asset stripping of seasons past has come home to roost in my view, filling it full of untried kids who may well in years to come be Wigans future isnt the way to run a club,Lenegan and Radlinski need to sort the recruitment policy (if there is one)out and get a player or two in shaprish,a fullback and hooker would do for starters surely our old boss in audtralia knows of a player or two not getting a game in the nrl and could come over on a short term deal.'"
Sorry to pick your post out there are many others I would also include but I know the scoreline hurts today but I'm not reading anything into that game whatsoever and I dont think anyone else should either. Credit where credit is due and Wakefield played some enterprising rugby too lets not forget but the majority of those Wigan lads on that field have battled a virus all week with no training and that has to be the main contributing factor. We were also without pretty much all our strike players hence we didn't score at all. A couple of the lads had a dig but im not reading anything into that game at all and it has no bearing on our strength in depth either. It's a shame for the kids who were making their debut to have to suffer that defeat but battling a virus all week and then having to put your body on the line when your still ill is no laughing matter.
We will have a few of our strike players back for Cas and Im sure we will be competing again. If you told me we were going to lose 62 nil again next week against Wakefield Id still go and watch the game.
