[b:2q2mjndn]"What was it like out there Sam?"[/b:2q2mjndn]
"F*cking hard mate"
Queensland great Sam Backo live on telly to nine's Tim Sheridan after being named man of the match in a state of origin game in 1988.: |

| Well Id say he does the basics very well he takes the ball in hard achieves a quick play the ball more often than not, misses very few tackles and always seems to be helping the other forwards as the third man in when they are struggling with the wrestle. Ive seen the occasional decent offload to pop the backs through a gap so with further progress as he still has many years playing on his side he could be another Sean O'loughlin in 5 or 6 years time. Lets not forget Lockers was also just very good at doing the basics as a young gun and now he's the best forward in England. Players need time to mature their game sometimes and this can only come with game time where then confidence can thrive. Id say he's very lucky to have such a role model to learn his trade from there's probably no better forward to help progress his career with.
I think you should have started the post with the name or names of certain other front rowers as there's definitely far worse and less hard working forwards than Burke at this club.

| Why can't we have an "is anyone good enough" thread?

| Burke was never going to live up to his immediate hype, of a few years ago, as the next SOL but I was worried for his development after couple of uninspiring loan periods. The last one had the fans comparing him very unfavourably with the other lad we loaned them. I was therefore surprised when Greenwood went and Burke stayed. On his return we have seen Burke do everything that we have asked of him. He isn't a blockbuster prop but he grafts away. He also has decent hands an has set up a couple of tries. Yes I would like to see a modern Quentin Pongia at Wigan but Burke is doing what is asked of him with competence.
