| Just want to know what people think at about the salford game being possibly being moved to another ground. I work at the stadium and was speaking to some of the stewards at the weekend and they have been told that the Salford game is almost certainly going to be moved with Widnes being the most likely venue.
I know that its always been a sore subject with us playing a game the day before the latics, but if this turns out to be true why should season ticket holders be forced to travel to another ground after paying out to see there club play the matches at the DW.
Im sure that not every season ticket holder has their own transport and may walk or get a lift to the stadium so how would these season ticket holders make there way to Widnes?
Even if the club provides transport this is not acceptable as people pay to see our club play our home games at home not travel to neutral venues.

| We aren't the only RL club to share a ground. Hull and Hudds share with soccer teams and Salford with Sale RU.
Do they get messed about like this? I don't think so. Do they have to play away from home for weeks on end mid-season? Nope.
The fact we do is unacceptable. You could understand the midseason thing once while the situation was sorted out for good but it's clear it's now going to be every bloody season. Moving other fixtures like this Salford game is just rank bad planning. The soccer fixtures are known as are the RL fixtures before the first RL game kicks off including the dates of potential home ties in cup games.
To be having to change a fixture and give such short notice is very, very poor and reflects badly on IL and the club.

| We do unfortunately, in the past we've even had to play games at Leigh because Sale were given priority. Even just last week, our home game vs Leeds was moved from a Friday night to a Saturday due to Sale progressing to the next round of the cup with that game being shown on Sky.

The argument is that IL has turned the club into a business rather than a family club, this has nothing to do with previous owners/ chairmen.

| Quote: hatty "The argument is that IL has turned the club into a business rather than a family club, this has nothing to do with previous owners/ chairmen.'" In modern sport there is an absolute requirement for a good business head to manage the day-to-day finances and turn a profit if at all possible. This farce with the wendyballers taking precedence is nothing to do with IL. The ground is owned by a company (that itself has to make a profit) that is still in part owned by the Whelan clan and their priority is soccer. Where I [iwould[/i lay blame for this is Rads. Is he not still "Rugby General Manager"? Exactly what is that supposed to be if not to keep an eye on schedules and potential pratfalls like this? Also, the RFL should know better in the first place and if any fault is to be sent in Lenagan's direction it's only insofar that he's patently not got the balls to stand up and fight our corner when the requirement is there.

Of course it does; it shows that the previous owners demonstrated that a "family club" is not viable when it keeps on losing money. That, in essence, is why we don't have Central Park anymore.
