Word is that Liam is out for the season after yet another training ground injury. Big blow if true.

I don't think we are, but I'd suspect it's something to do with them being a tad too keen to impress. If they're constantly fighting for their place, then they might just be stretching themselves that little bit too much.
I'm all for competition when it comes to selection, but some common-sense needs to be applied (on both sides, maybe)

After a poor start of the season by his standards he's been great the last 2 months and this is a big blow,however hopefully we can get him back for the play-offs and the games that really matter.

Let Gildart have his do, I think he is more than up to it

I mentioned in the Thornley thread a few weeks back that another injury in to a centre or backrower leaves us very short on options. I'd be inclined to go with Gelling and Gildart in the centres and put Bateman back in the pack. Much better option than playing Patrick in the SR IMO.

That's rubbish, just when he was hitting really good form following a poor start to the year. Hopefully he will return in the same form for the semi final. I'd move Bateman back into the second row and try Charnley and Gildart as the centres v Catalans, whoever performs best gets the spot v Hull with Gelling coming in for the other.
