Wigan RLFC - The Uprising!
-----------------------------------------------------------
Wigan footballer Mohamed Diame described the home of mint balls and pies as 'cr**py'.
But Tomkins boomed: "I don't want to know what he thinks. I don't even know his name. He only plays for Latics.":16522.jpg |

| In choosing Millwall as a venue, I wonder whether IL had this in mind? - London Broncos played some of their early SL matches at Charlton (very close to Millwall) and got some very good crowds. IIRC, they had over 9000 for a Saturday afternoon televised match against Paris. At that time, the London club did some great work in drumming up support in Kent (Millwall's traditional heartland) - after all, the only rival sporting clubs in Kent are Gillingham FC and Kent CCC.

ST holders can get 20% off for friends and family in addition to the free ticket for themselves and I've just had an email off Superleague offering a 20% discount as well. Suggests their not selling very well now that the ST holders who are going have snapped up the free ticket and coach offer. Can't see there being more than 4 or 5k on, with the majority having not paid for a ticket. I wonder what IL was hoping for/will deem a success?'"
To be fair, the 20% discount applies to everyone if you buy before a certain date. Wigan offered the discount, Super League are simply passing on the message.
I would hazard a guess at around 7 to 8k.

They're also now 2-for-1 on Ticketmaster. Say 2000 season ticket holders and maybe 500 free corporate tickets, really can't see another 5000 paying to go.

I agree with you. And just because people have snapped up free tickets and travel doesn't mean they will definitely attend. I reckon there will be plenty of no shows at 7 o clock on a Saturday morning.

| It has been asked on the London Broncos site if your going to repeat your home game in London next season. In addition do Wigan still have their office in Buckingham Palace Rd?

IL has said that a "regular season" game will likely be down there (which hasn't gone down well in many quarters), but where & when nothing further. And I think the B/Palace rd office is part of the Business Club & Lenagan's continued world domination policy - so likely.
