| In choosing Millwall as a venue, I wonder whether IL had this in mind? - London Broncos played some of their early SL matches at Charlton (very close to Millwall) and got some very good crowds. IIRC, they had over 9000 for a Saturday afternoon televised match against Paris. At that time, the London club did some great work in drumming up support in Kent (Millwall's traditional heartland) - after all, the only rival sporting clubs in Kent are Gillingham FC and Kent CCC.

Ian Lenagans monthly interview is due soon on Wigan t.v. They were asking for questions on their twitter feed so mine was why Millwall instead of Fulham? I guess we'll have to wait and see if he answers it.

| I did not think that he idea of bringing a Wigan home game down to London was to attract fans from Kent to Rugby League.
The idea was to attract Blue Chip Sponsors to Wigan RLFC.
Ian Lenagan is not the business man he would have you believe his is, if he thinks he can achieve this at Millwall. Of all places.

| I'm sure I read somewhere that Gilingham have been complaining that West Ham's sweetheart deal to get the Olympic Stadium would eat into their Kent hinterland support.

I always thought that Millwall town was full of charity shops?

| It is Charlton who upset Gillingham with their efforts to lure Kentish fans, cheap buses etc.
Orient are the ones upset with West Ham.

| I have been loud in my support of IL but this idea is ridiculous beyond comprehension. It has no sporting value whatsoever. It inconveniences his own fans, players and coaching staff. You'd be hard pressed to think of a more unsuitable venue. Interestingly the website fails to mention that the New Den is the home of Millwall FC. I wonder why?
I also wonder how many of those claiming their free tickets will find leaving Wigan at 7 o'clock on a Saturday morning beyond their will to follow the team. I predict an embarrassment for Mr Leneghan with Wigans lowest ever crowd for a home game in the summer era.

| There seem to be discounted ticket offers all over for this now (they were priced too high to start off with IMO). ST holders can get 20% off for friends and family in addition to the free ticket for themselves and I've just had an email off Superleague offering a 20% discount as well. Suggests their not selling very well now that the ST holders who are going have snapped up the free ticket and coach offer. Can't see there being more than 4 or 5k on, with the majority having not paid for a ticket. I wonder what IL was hoping for/will deem a success?
