Someone posted old photos of Wigan town centre on another site that I came across and it made me think about some classic photos out there relating to Wigan RL.

Just wondered if there were any great photos I hadn't seen. What are people's most iconic/favourite photo that is Wigan RL related?

I have one from another site of Billy B going over against Cas away in the late 50s and it seems impossible for a player who as been brushed of to finish up in such a crumpled position without being seriously injured. The problem is I don't know how to post it if I cant find a link.

The one I always remember though is a Wigan v Hunslet match at CP and Billy is going over in the corner and the photo shows the Hunslet scrum half in the background suspended in an horizontal position about a yard off the ground with his head and neck disappearing into his shoulders such was the weight behind Billies handoff. This was an iconic photo brought up for years, but sadly no more.

But one which is one of RL folklore is not just for Wigan it is the one of the Wolfs Wall, a true classic for future RL generations.

I love this one - it's excellent for several reasons but HH's expression in particular takes me straight back to the moment when I knew we'd done the Double.

WJ Boston scoring I think in the 1960 Championship Final versus Wakefield and an old feller running onto to pitch in celebration. Natural and full of smiling faces!
