Refarding Josh and his loss of form, he hasn't had any form since Sam left. His Twitter statement doesn't help his cause, I don't know if it's still the same? full time farmer part time rugby player, I bet that went down well!

| Quote sergeant pepper="sergeant pepper"Have to disagree.
For me it's another one of those double standard moments from SW.
Charnley is out of form but he's also had a significant number of injuries go against him. He needs game time to pull through this patch. That's no less than what Budgie got at the start of the season when he was off the boil. Lockers, whilst not as bad as Charnley, hasn't ripped up trees since his return. It's understood that he needs time to find form but the same isn't offered to Charnley.
Williams & Smith have down right stunk at points this season but both seem immune from SW axe?
=#FF0000Hampshire had a bad night in Catalan and was rightfully dropped for the Leeds game- will SW now do the same for Bowen who gifted Saints two tries last week?
Wane has his favourites who are undoubtedly treated differently to others in the squad.'"
Hampshire didn't play in Catalan.
Quote sergeant pepper="DaveO"If you read Charnley's M.E.N column he was quite clearly called into Wane's office and given a telling off for the Saints game and think that is totally unjustified. Sarge made a mess of it ending up throwing a stupid pass (if its what I think it is for) and I think Charnley has carried the can.
If so this is wrong. Not only was it not his fault this isn't being dropped for loss of form but is scapegoating by Wane and he's gone for the wrong player anyway (not that he should be going for any one player - the [iteam[/i was poor).
Here is the link:

He's got no centre and from that in my view is the only player to suffer for the loss v Saints. I think Wane is doing a fine job of alienating the player and destroying what confidence he has left.
This should have been a "redeem yourself week" selection-wise in my view not one to drop a single player (for something not his fault) because the entire team was rubbish the week before.'"
What makes you think that Charnley was the only one called into Wanes office this week, or in the past few weeks?

| On the Wigan site it says that Josh has scored 137 tries in 133 games for the club.
Now he thinks his career with Wigan is at a crossroads?
Who in hells name has made him feel like that?
We have three great wingmen and one is leaving at the season's end. Of the two remaining one feels that his career at Wigan is at the crossroads? Well someone should have pointed him in the right direction a very long time before now.
He's had injuries, hardly had a pass these past few weeks. He got two passes at Hudds and scored two tries.
If the club want the best from Charnley perhaps they should try and change his inside man as Joel as hard as he tries is never a centre. We're playing Salford, Josh at centre to Manfredi would be a risk but not one that should put the result in danger.
Poor decision to drop him from the 19 in view of the way the Saints game ended in such a shambles.
I suppose for the Salford game we're back to same old, same old which will be repeated the following week.

My mistake he played against Hull KR and then was dropped for Catalan. Same argument applies regardless of if i got the games right or wrong.
I'm sure others were called into Wane's office as well. It just appears at this moment in time Charnley is the only who has been dropped which is wrong imo.
For me it's another example of how out of his depth Wane is as a coach.

No issue with the decision personally, I thought Charnley was poor to non existent on Friday. If Manfredi is fit it's an easy choice.

| Quote OJ="OJ"It's true that Josh hasn't scored as many tries as we are used to recently but that may just have something to do with the fact that he's not been passed the blasted ball. Sounds like he is being singled out for the loss to Saints and God knows why - totally out of order unless whoever wrote the article hasn't told the full story. One things for certain there wouldn't be any shortage of clubs happy to have him on their books if our management have a brain storm. Not happy'"
People read what they want to read with articles like that. There's no way Josh is suggesting he was "singled out" for the Saints game. He was probably one of many who was dragged into SWs office for similar chats, but JC isn't going to air that in a newspaper column is he. The fact is on his day Josh is a world class winger, but we haven't seen that sort of form consistently for over 2 years. He's being dropped because there is an adequate replacement in Manfredi who has done everything asked of him and more when he's played, to the point where he has earned his place. That isn't the case for other players in the squad (who would replace Sarg for example if he were to be dropped.
Injuries have played a part in Charnley's loss of form, but he looks heavy, sluggish and unfocused recently. His social media pages are covered in jollies down to London with some of his other enterprises and he's constantly putting pictures of fast food on, maybe this will be the kick up the backside he needs to get him to concentrate on his rugby.

| Charnely has been a shadow of the player we know he can be since Carney made him look a fool at Cas and then he got the injury. He is way behind Burgess and Manfredi in terms of form wingers this season and there's no way Manfredi deserves to have to wait for his chance against given his form and Charnley's.
Josh needs to remember he's a rugby league player and go and find his mojo rather than the self-indulgent "crossroads" excrement in the press.

Why does that matter one way or the other? It's clear he has been and equally clear he's the only player dropped after the Saints loss.
It's all right dragging players into Wane's office if the treatment is the same for them all. Was Sarge who was worse than him in terms of crucial mistakes dragged in? No idea but he's still playing this week.
If players think they are unjustifiably being singled out it only needs to happen to a few and Wane will lose the dressing room.
Actually I think the whole idea of being called to his office is pretty childish when clearly the players know what it's for. It's like being dragged before the headmaster for the cane!
That M.E.N article is a rare glimpse behind the scenes at Wigan and I don't think it paints a healthy picture.
