I wish we could field the Josh of old, but there's been no sign of him for quite a while. I appreciate he's had injury troubles, but that interview he gave to the MEN, in which he describes himself as being at a crossroads in his Wigan career, can't have done him too many favours with the coaching staff. It maybe he's just being honest, but it also sounds a bit like attempted blackmail to me. Difficult to judge where his head is at present, but if Manfredi's firing on all cylinders again then it would be very unfair to drop him anyway.'"
The reason i'm pushing this mostly on SW is because we've seen his favouritism before.
Player A has a bad game (Smith, Joel, Williams, Sarge etc) and there's no comments from Wane in the press and they don't get dropped. Player B (pick from Josh, Hampshire or Gelling) has a bad game and all of a sudden Wane is either wielding his axe or he's out with the 'rocks and diamond's' BS.
I really feel for Josh on this one. His MEN article screams to me like someone who needs a confidence boost and days like today aren't helping anyone. He'll have seen the support given to Budgie in the early part of this season and he'll wonder why he's not getting that same backing.
To keep Bowen in the squad and to drop Charnley just baffles me. Like others have said on here if he wanted to bring Manfredi back then bring him in at FB for Bowen has probably had 5/10 decent Wigan games in his time here!
Your face either fits or it doesn't with Wane.
