You're forgetting that no team/manager is perfect. Even Sir Alex Ferguson lost cup games against lesser teams, as well as going through rough patches in the league.

Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying Wane is anywhere near the coaching prowess of Sir Alex, but Jesus, give the man a break. He was inches away from winning the GF last year if it wasn't for a certain incident. We have played no where near our full potential this year and sit 3rd in the league! I firmly believe that we will win the GF this year, just be patient. Sports teams lose games, get over it.

Wane won the double in 2013, how would it be 3/4 years without a trophy???? If you're gonna slate the bloke at least try not to make things up.

When Madge left we'd just lost twice on the bounce to Saints let's not forget.

Wane then had to cope with the loss of several world class players (and practically all of Madge's team) who he was forced to replace with kids and under the radar signings. He's brought through several top class youngsters whilst still keeping Wigan at the top. Quite a coaching feat in my book.

Fair enough, I do think its unreasonable to hold last years GF loss against him, considering what happened.

I suppose it's possible(?) that I've been watching a lot longer than you so I remember the good times and bad times equally.

It pays when watching sport and supporting a team to take a longer term view. Maybe you do have higher standards than me - if so congratulations - you must be a bugger to live with

I'm in the middle on this, think Wane's done an excellent job with the player turnover he's dealt with including winning a double which Madge couldn't do, but the inconsistency of the performances this season has clearly been a problem. But looking forward we are in a good position going into the top 8 and it will be interesting to see how all the top teams cope with that change considering the last few seasons have been weighted towards peaking around September/October. If we fall short this year I suspect he'll stay on but similar mid season results next year will see him gone.

How do you know how old I am and how long I've been watching Wigan? Do you always make irreverent comments? Regardless of how old you might be it has nothing to do with Wigan's form this season under Wane.

Anyway... back to reality and the topic...

I'm not convinced either which way with Wane this season. We have to have high standards and win games, that's what his job is, to have the team winning games and silverware, if this doesn't happen than he's role as head coach has to be under scrutiny as we are here to win.

Parts of the season are promising, win against Leeds, Saints on Good Friday etc, but he runs the risk of coming up with nothing if we don't win the GF, that'll be two seasons on the bounce.
For every positive there's been something equally as poor, v KR in the CC, we were poor. V Cats away; terrible, plus a terrible record away from the DW.

Like ever professional job, a review will take place at the end of the season to review the state of play and Wane's future with the club. I would like nothing more for us to win every game and lift the GF trophy at the end of the season, I have no personal grudge with SW, I simply want Wigan to be a successful force winning trophies, with or without Wane.
