| The thing with Greenwood is he's nearly 24,should he still be viewed as a prospect?

| Greenwood ran the ball in all day long, didn’t make many yards but worked hard. Gildart made the better impression of the two, making a couple of fantastic breaks with his second one resulting in a try for Kevin Locke. He has a deceptive turn of pace and went round his opposition centre/winger with ease. Certainly looks a good prospect.

He's always been good in attack, it's his defence that still isn't up to SL standard. Great prospect, though, I agree.

| Good stats from him on the superleague site.
0 missed tackles and 10 carries for 174 metres!
Good starting point for him. Looking at Salfords issues for Friday Gildart Snr might get an emergency deal.

| I was at the game yesterday and Gildart showed up really well. He made a couple of telling breaks, his second leading to Kevin Locke's try. His first break was much better though and he busted a couple of tackles in the process. He did however look suspect in defence, particularly in the first half; he doesn't appear to have much problem tackling when people run to him but he was out of position a couple of times leading to Cas overlaps. This of course can be attributed to slotting into a new side but there's definitely a bit of work to be done there.
Greenwood was fairly anonymous and I didn't really notice him in attack, when he did carry the ball he didn't seem to make many yards. He did put a good shift in defence though, it will be interesting to see how many tackles he made but it was probably 25+.

| Gildart's statistics are really quite remarkable. I only ever look at the match statistics briefly, but I can't remember anyone ever doing better per average carry, not even Gelling in his better games where he has exceeded 200 metres ( but with approximately 20 carries, so only an average of 10 - 12 metres per carry). To average over 17 metres per carry ( 174 in 10 carries) is truly outstanding and bodes well for the future. He is obviously still a work in progress, but as he bulks up naturally and gets stronger and thus better defensively, he should become an excellent and very valuable Wigan player.

I saw one of his runs on superleague fulltime last night and it was outstanding. He did the winger for pace on the outside and bust through two cover defenders before being hunted down by Milner (although if he'd have backed his pace he may have got there).
His run from a kick to set up a Locke try was also very impressive. He can certainly attack!

The first one you mention was the one I was impressed with, some very good work shown in that break.

It had a bit of everything. Good pace, footwork and strength.
Very good signs from a kid who must have had some nerves with it being his debut at first team level.
