I must say I am looking to giving the new Wigan Central a try on Good Friday. Is it any good?

Only been once but enjoyed it. Good selection of ales on and a good atmosphere. The place has been busy pretty much since it opened.

It's excellent, although not very big inside, so you might find it packed. If you like your cask ales, you'll love it! Fascinating old railway themed decor and a great selection of beers and ciders. We love it in there.

As a CAMRA member I can safely say I like my ales. Look forward to giving it a whirl. Can see it being busy on GF though!

Where can you get a decent pie?

Brisk walk on a cold night there after game last night. Really nice pub, great selection of beer at prices which seem very cheap ( I guess) to anyone not from the North-West. My son, who lives in London, home of the six quid pint

Safe to say that The Bowling Green has gone somewhat downhill since my last visit. How long has The Royal Oak been closed? Decent trip.
