I'd have league leaders straight to OT and 2 v 3 to decide their opposition.

We'll end up playing wire and the winners will win the grand final.

This round of play off fixtures highlighted what a poor system it is.

2 games where the loser got a second chance= huge blow out scores with Cas and Huddersfield both looking like they turned the games in after a couple if scores.

2 knockout games= close, tense, hard fought contests that weren't decided until the very last play.

I won't be sad to see the end of this system.

I think there is a terrible mentality with rugby league in the country, it seems in the NRL teams play all out no matter what is on the line and thats the players and clubs problems not the structure or the RFL.

You do sometimes get the feeling that people in our game think "if there's any chance we can take the week off, we will".

Yes it's the club's fault. They are the ones who have made the LLS redundant and its a shame.

100% its no coincidence that the 2 games that didn't mean life and death was blows out and the two that did was both intense and exciting games, I think we have been guilty of this the last 2 season as well.

The only difference between the NRL and Superleague is one competition is in the main media and players get slaughtered if you don't play well and the other no one cares and if you perform well for 10 games a season you are seen as a good player.

I was shocked when the NRL changed to the same system as us a couple of seasons ago but really it works better over there than it does over here. They have more teams, they are more evenly matched and they don't have a full home and away fixture calendar. I still don't think the system does enough to reward finishing position, but over here it's a blatant attempt to have as many games as possible in the playoffs. I always thought they system that the Aussies used to have (McIntyre?) would have worked better over here if it was kept as a top 8 system.

Yep, they do. although there's more teams in their comp.
