| Great game tonight as a neutral but McIlorum is a disgrace, clobbering somebody from behind. Not being bitter by the way, thought Wood should have gone for his punches as well. As a game it was great to watch.

| Those calling for Micky's head, for what? It was a challenge that even Cullen describes as a check challenge, not a shoulder charge and in terms of the ball leaving the players hand and impact half a second or the like after the player left Laithwaite's hands?
If there were no injury I doubt very much that anyone would be raising an eyebrow, looking at the Tomkin's penalty which lead to the 2 points for Warrington is essentially the same but nobody is calling for Tomkin's head.

Neither will exposing you as a phoney, I guess. But it won't stop us doing it.

| Paul Wood should have been sent off. Simple as that. Pettybourne had 2 choices, either defend himself or get punched in the head. The ref got it wrong and should have only punished Wood.
As for McIlorum, it's nothing knew from him. He is a coward. Typical cheap shot from him. But I won't hold my breath with regards to a ban.

| Just this minute see it on the replay.
Not too much in it really. As Cummings says it's more of a chest charge then a shoulder. It's slightly late and he may get a game but that would be harsh (previous may do for him though).
McIlorum a coward? Ha ha. Great player and improving all the time.

I'd agree with that. What Pettybourne was supposed to do there other than defend himself I do not know.

Anyone calling McIlorum a coward doesn't watch him play very much. As to this incident, any other player would get a letter saying watch the technique. We will see what MM gets in due course.

I disagree, I think Pettybourne should have been binned for striking and Wood sent off. According to the laws of the game at least.

| A few points need clearing up here,Wood should of got red,you have to sin bin pettybourne thats the rules, now to mcllorum as he goes in to make contact his right arm begins to wrap around laithwaite hence its not a shoulder charge ive had it paused at the point of impact if he gets charged it will be on reputation,as for all the whinos fans there aint no bigger coward/s×ithouse than carl ablett, ryan bailey need i go on with the long list of players at your club.

Technically you are correct. However a ref with a bit of common sense would have been blind to what Pettybourne did as he would have realised he had to do it and had the ref been so, who would have complained?

| The Wood one was an easy call. Bentham bottled it. The current rules determine it is a straight red for Wood and a yellow for Pettybourne. The sensible way of dealing with it would have been a yellow for Wood and a chat with Pettybourne but it's not viewed that way anymore.
MM is certainly a pantomime villain. One who opositiin fans love to hate and pretend none of their players could possibly do what he does. As a player I rate him very highly but he does cross the line too often and needs to discipline himself better. The late challenge was worthy of a penalty, not a lot more IMO. It wasn't high, it wasn't a shoulder charge. Laithwaite landed awkwardly and every precaution was taken, rightly so. According to the match report on sky he should be fine for next week so fortunately no real damage done. You see similar challenges on a weekly basis which get nothing more than a warning letter, normally nothing at all. You can't just ban players on reputation, either ban all of them or none.
What IMO MM should get banned for is the cannonball tackle. He had no need to enter the tackle when he did, the Warrington player was on his way down and had stopped moving forward. He came in at knee height, it was from behind the knee so didn't bend beyond it's normal range of movement but he shouldn't be coming in like that.
