Probably not. Strange situation and its a shame we've not even seen him once in the first team. Wane sets the standards though so he'll have his reasons.

Almost as if we signed him to prevent wire from signing him. He has never been given any chance. From when he first joined and was sent with the 19s to france instead of America, that was the end

It's a strange one this. When we signed him a lot of people who had seen him play were really excited about him and it sounded like he would be in with a shot of a regular bench spot. I've only seen him play once which was when he had quite a poor game in the friendly v Leigh from memory (fairly sure he got caught flat footed for a Leigh try and bombed a certain try in attack). I seriously doubt that this was the plan all along

I agree, there's no way this could have been the plan all along. He was signed as a 23 year old, so surely first team appearances must have been planned for this season. We only signed him on a 2 year contract, and he's going to end up spending both of those years out on loan. There would have been plenty of opportunities for game time in the first team this season, in either the front or back row, if SW thought he was ready for it. Something strange has gone on, though, it's not like Wane to no even give someone a sniff of a chance to prove themselves. I know a potential attitude problem was raised on here a while back, or maybe we simply signed someone who wasn't as good as we thought at the time?

He's on a 2 + 1 contract I believe with the last year being optional. If we're loaning him for the entire season to Leigh I'd be surprised if we decided to take up that 1 year option at the end.

Rumour I heard it was attitude (to training) issues.

Sometimes you will be left with a square peg and a round hole, I wouldn't be surprised if you exercised the option as I believe he will have a big year at a full time leigh

I heard mixed reviews of him when we signed him tbh. There was some Leigh fans on the same coach as me on the way to Wembley last season and we asked them about Hopkins and they described him as solid, he'd do a job but wouldn't be a superstar.
