| I was very impressed by the lads. I wonder how far Jamie Doran is from first team action, I only catch academy games now and then but he always stands out to me. Rogues - any idea who the Wire prop with the black scrum cap was? He had a great game despite playing for a well beaten team

2572.jpg Ah, good taste!
What a dreadful thing!
Taste is the enemy of creativeness.

| after a poor start, the U19s have really come on.
I guess we lost the core of the team between last season and this (incl the 1st choice wingers and halves, FB etc), so this would only to be expected.
The front row of Austin, Sutton, Wright have already started to make the 1st team squad, and are pretty much guarranteed a few games next year.
A few questions for those that are lucky enough to see them regularly :
Is Wright good enough to take Logan Tomkin's place in the squad?
How ready are Gildart, Doran and Shorrocks, Given that they play in the 'problem positions' of centre and halves ? I appreciate that Williams, Hampshire and Powell are still trying to bed themselves in to the 1st team, but pressure from below will also have an impact on how long they are given.
Who needs to go out on loan at Clubs at the 2nd tier next season ?

I'd keep Wright over Tomkins, especially as two half backs are playing 9 for the 1st team backing up McIlorum.
Doran will play professionally at a good standard I'm not convinced that will be at Wigan though.
Shorrocks gets caught with ball in hand way too much but has ability and another season in the 19's to improve.
Gildart looks to be a great athlete with a lot of pace, his handling on occasion isn't the best IMO but he too has time to improve that side of his game. For me,he is the pick of the backs playing week in week out in the younger age group.

| There's some good forwards coming through from the Academy this year and from what I've seen Rob Lever has played well and cant be too far off a debut!
Gregson is developing into a good player along with Forsyth in the centre.
